If you ask me I will rather call 911 on the phone. I feel that if you try to get in contact with the law over social network it will take longer for them to response. If you really look at it communication through a phone is faster because you can tell them right away your problem and you location instead of internet. So much can happen in that time of you typing your situation. But then again if you’re not around a phone you really don’t have a choice but to use the computer to contact the police.

The social media has become famous through out the world.Many people used Face book, twitter and instagram  a way to communicate with each other.But it also can communicate with the public, that can help people prevent their houses to get on fire and save lives. Today people carry their  cell phones with them anywhere he/she go, its used to  call 9/11 emergency call. The New Jersey  has social media were they  shared emergency call by using face book and twitter. Does other states have a network that shared in face book and twitter?

New Jersey has come up with a way to share  emergency  information using Facebook and Twitter.
Why is New Jersey using the social media and other states are not? I think that many people use their phone to call 911 for emergencies. They don't think about using social media for  emergencies. Many people have phones not everyone has access to social media. It is 2013 many ways for the public to find out about emergencies using social media.

I think that using social media as a way to make be able to communicate during an emergency i think that it could work but it could also take a long time because there won't always be a person looking out for someone to respond to your emergency. Its a good idea and it could work but it won't always work.  Phone is always gonna be better because you can talk to someone about the emergency you are having.

             The students of the 21st century are born into a life that requires both skill and dedication to have a job to support your family and figuring all of that out early means the younger you are when you retire. In Horry County, South Carolina high school students can take a two-year program at the Horry County Public Schools' Academy for Technology and Academics to receive training from certified Horry County Fire Rescue instructors. As soon as the students turn 18 they are "eligible to test for firefighter certification through the National Fire Protection Association and the South Carolina Fire Academy" (Kim) which means if they pass they can become a fire fighter anywhere in the country, depending on availability. This will provide young men and women with the opportunity to start their careers early and become aged professionals before they turn 30.

I think  its good that Firefighters  in South carolina  train High School students about going into the fire department. It educates young people about learning about how to fight fires. They give the students 2 years of training and then when they turn 18 they get a chance to test for firefighter certification.
