Social Media and Emergency Response
Communication during emergencies is extremely important. When there are natural disasters sometimes it becomes more difficult to reach out for help. If all emergency services were connected to social media then there would always be that option to call out for help. In some cases social media is a much faster and more efficient way to reach other people. If power lines are down and you are trapped but you have a cell phone then you have a better chance of getting help to you. I think it would be really nice if you could report to twitter, Facebook, etc when something happens if you can't call for 911. With today's advanced technology anything is possible, you can reach anyone in seconds. Events like 9/11 could be less damaging once a system connecting emergency response with social media is developed and perfected. I can't wait to see what the benefits of a system like this could be.
